Local military veterans and their families were honored during a special ceremony at Marion Intermediate School on Friday, Nov. 6.
The MIS chorus performed patriotic songs for the honored guests.
Sgt. Antonio Vaught provided a special Veteran’s Day message, encouraging students to appreciate the opportunity to obtain an education and enjoy the many privileges of living in the United States. Vaught recently returned from a tow-year tour of duty, serving in Afghanistan.
All veterans that attended were invited to a reception following the ceremony in the MIS Media Center.
