LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Reader spots several stories with red flags in common

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Friday’s Morning News ran two very sad stories and an opinion letter all having one thing in common. Red flags. The story of the 7-month-old baby in the box stated child welfare started investigating that family less than two weeks after the baby was born. Many red flags and nothing was done. Red flags had been raised concerning the Army major who killed and wounded many at Fort Hood in Texas. Red flags and nothing was done. Now a well-meaning citizen has brought to everyone’s attention the fact that children are being dropped off on Highway 301 and walking along the highway at least two- to three-tenths of a mile alone. OK, Florence school superintendent and transportation director, here is your RED FLAG. Do something about this now. Cut back somewhere else. Protect the children in your care.
