Souper Supper winners announced

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The 14th Annual American Culinary Federation Souper Supper smashed all previous attendance records as some 800 diners enjoyed soup, breads and sweets from more than 40 Grand Strand Chefs.

Chef Instructor Eric Wagner of Horry-Georgetown Technical College took home three trophies and was named the overall winner.

This is the second year The Market Common in Myrtle Beach has hosted the event, and a 100-foot tent in Valor Memorial Gardens was where chefs from Little River, North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Conway, Surfside Beach, Murrells Inlet, Litchfield Beach, Pawleys Island and Georgetown dished up their soups.

Lee and Wendy Zulanch of Benjamin's Bakery provided an assortment of artisan breads, and Tracy Littlejohn of The Upper Crust in Georgetown had cupcakes so popular, she ran out of 750 of them in two hours.

The sunny 75-degree day made for perfect weather, and Charlie Lee and his jazz combo provided a perfect aural accompaniment.
