Open house to pay tribute to veterans
A veteran guest speaker and staff of the Kingstree Workforce Center will be giving presentations Thursday, Nov. 5 on job opportunities, services, and or training, available to veterans. First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Hemingway will have a Pileau Fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The plates will be $6 each. For advance tickets call 558-9406. The pileau will be prepared by Douglas Walters of Andrews.
The Children of Tomorrow Nesmith Parade will be held Saturday, Nov. 7. Line up for the parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Pressley Convenient Store in Nesmith and will get underway at 11a.m. Donations of toys and clothing for needy children in the area can be dropped off at that designated areas near the convenient store or at the parade’s conclusion at Chocolate City on Nesmith Road. The 6th Annual Johnsonville Ms. Merry Christmas Pagent will be held Saturday Nov. 7 at Johnsonville Middle School. The event, which features divisions for young ladies from birth to 17 and up, will begin at noon. The winner from each division will receive a crown and scepter and be featured in the Johnsonville Christmas parade. Contestenats are able to register the day of the pagent and all proceeds go towards the Johnsonville Christmas parade. For more information contact Brad Richardson at 843-687-9894.
