A Florence woman was arrested Sunday after police said she stabbed her husband several times after he slapped her, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
Kimberly Goodnight, 39, of 508 Chase St. is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, Florence County Detention Center booking reports show.
It happened about 1 a.m. Saturday when police found a bleeding man on Dixie Street. They later discovered the victim had been at his Chase Street home arguing with his wife. Police said the victim slapped the suspect, who then pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed him in the arm and chest.
Goodnight turned herself in to police Sunday, Raines said. She remains in custody at the jail in Effingham awaiting bond.
