COLUMBIA - Hemingway native Dianne Chinnes, who is president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Central South Carolina, Inc., had an article published for Mothers' Day, where she gave tribute to her mother, Anna Belle Chinnes.

The article in the May issue of Columbia Metropolitan said in part, "If I needed to stand tall, endure and learn the tough lessons of life, my mother pointed the way."

"My mother's legacy included a strong work ethic, a deep sense of propriety and the strength to cope when times got tough. Many people have faced adversity but none with more dignity, strength or grace than my mother ... she was the first 'Steel Magnolia.'"
