At the Florence National Cemetery flags were placed on all the headstones of soldiers that fought for our country.

Several hands young and old grabbed and placed more than 7,000 flags.

“It's a way to say thank you to all the veterans who have given there lives for our country and for our freedom,” Andrea Male, volunteer and organizer said. “We want to make sure we teach the kids how to have respect for all of our veterans, that's one thing I'm trying to make my kids understand."

Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. a retiring of the flags ceremony was also held at the national cemetery.

Monday at the national cemetery there will also be a service in honor of those who fought and are fighting for our country.
