A Florence man was arrested Monday after receiving 27.5 pounds of marijuana through a delivery service, according to a press release from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Roland Howard Brown, 41, is charged with trafficking in 10 pounds or more but less than 100 pounds of marijuana, a Florence County Detention Center booking reports show.
Brown was arrested by Florence County sheriff’s deputies during a joint operation with the Darlington County and Lexington County sheriff’s offices.
Deputies intercepted a package containing about 27.5 pounds of marijuana sent through a delivery service to Brown, Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone said in the release.
Brown accepted the package and immediately was taken into custody and charged with trafficking in marijuana.
It was later determined that Brown was the suspect of a bench warrant issued from Williamsburg County for possession with intent to distribute 9 pounds of marijuana on June 6, 2007.
