The Johnakin Middle School Beach Bums participated in the Relay for Life on May 1., in Marion. The group made donations of over $2,700 to help find a cure for cancer.
Dressed in beach attire, the students walked the track, sold baked goods and participated in the activities of the night. Eighth grader Stacy Coleman took the title for the Womanless Beauty Pageant at 12:30 a.m., by popular votes.
Team organizers thank the parents who helped support the group before, during and after the Relay.
Thank you, Ronnie Pridgen, for taking care of the tent.
