North Myrtle Beach mayor Marilyn Hatley said while her city didn't have as many bikers this year during the Harley-Davidson spring 2009 motorcycle rally; they still had a very good week.
Hatley said, “There were signs on businesses that said thank you to the city of North Myrtle Beach, the restaurants seemed to be pleased, the accommodations area seemed to be pleased, I know we had no problems. As far as I’m concerned, bikers are welcome here as well as any other people who come to the city of North Myrtle Beach and I think that has been what our message throughout this whole ordeal, is the fact that bikers are welcome as well as any other group, as long as they abide by our laws and this week, this past week they did abide by our laws."
