A Hartsville woman was arrested Thursday after her infant son tested positive for marijuana, Darlington County Sheriff’s Capt. Andy Locklair said.

Kimberly Toni Norris, 25, of 501 Coker Ave. is charged with unlawful neglect of a child by a legal custodian, Darlington County Detention Center booking reports show.

On Feb. 24, sheriff’s deputies received a referral about the case from the S.C. Department of Social Services. The suspect was arrested after deputies learned the child had marijuana in his body.

Norris remains in custody at the jail in Darlington awaiting a bond hearing.
