The School District of Pickens County board of trustees has offered the job of superintendent, for which Florence School District 3 Superintendent Beth Wright was a finalist, to Dr. Henry Hunt, the Upstate district’s ombudsman.
Last week, Wright met with school officials and attended a community reception before her final interview, on Thursday, according to the Pickens County school district’s Web site.
That was also the day the board held a called meeting and voted to offer Hunt the superintendent’s position, a district press release states.
Also in the running for the job was Dr. Wayne Brazell, superintendent of Laurens County School District 56.
Wright has served as Florence School District 3 superintendent since 2001.
