The drowning death of a 12-year-old boy has been ruled accidental, Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight said.
Pauly R. Martin was found Monday at his home at 144 Carriage St. in Kingstree. He later died at a local hospital, McKnight said.
An autopsy was performed at the Medical University of South Carolina to determine the cause and manner of Pauly’s death, he said.
The case was investigated by the coroner’s office, the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office and the State Law Enforcement Division, Williamsburg County Sheriff Kelvin Washington said.
SLED was asked to assist in the case because it has a unit that specializes in investigating the deaths of children, Washington said.
