A 44-year-old Marion man has been arrested in connection with a weekend knife attack at a Mullins bar, according to Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Kevin Darren Robinette, of 3021 Small Court, is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, an incident report show.

Deputies responded to an assault involving a knife early at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at Barnhills Bar and Grill, according to the report. They spoke with witnesses, one of whom was using his shirt to apply pressure to a cut on the neck of the victim.

Several witnesses told deputies the suspect and victim were fighting outside the bar. EMS personnel were called to treat the victim’s injuries and he was taken to an are hospital for treatment, the report said.

Deputies found the suspect was found by deputies at his home about 4 a.m. and booked at the Marion County Detention Center.

Robinette has been released on a $20,000 surety bond, jail officials said Monday.
