A 16-year-old Marion boy is being charged as an adult in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, Marion Police Department reports show.
Thomas Earl Ellison Jr., 16, of 208 E. Pickens St., is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to an incident report.
The crime happened about 7:15 p.m. April 25, while the victim was at her residence with a friend. The suspect entered the unlocked front door while the victim’s friend was outside on the telephone, according to the report. He dragged the victim into a bedroom as she slapped and scratched him while screaming for her friend to help her. He picked her up and carried her into the bedroom and, when her friend came inside the house, he closed and locked the bedroom door.
The victim was assaulted before her friend could force the bedroom door open, according to the report. Both girls ran from the residence to get away from the suspect, who followed them and threatened to attack the victim’s friend next. When a neighbor approached the girls, the suspect fled.
Ellison was arrested about 2 p.m. April 29 at Marion High School and taken to the state Department of Juvenile Justice but will tried as an adult, reports show.
