Myrtle Beach police are investigating an accident that sent one person to the hospital, and completely shut down traffic on the Highway 17 bypass and Farrow Parkway.
Police say they responded at 5:27 p.m. Sunday.
A small SUV was traveling northbound on Highway 17 when their car collided with a motorcycle turning onto the highway, coming west from Farrow Parkway, according to police.
The motorcycle rider had to be airlifted to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, police said.
People traveling north on Highway 17 and those traveling west on Farrow Parkway were blocked in by police to make room for the helicopter, police said.
Nobody is claimed to be at fault at this time, and police said the motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet.
