Two Bennettsville men were arrested after separate drug raids Friday by the Marlboro County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.
Task force members raided an apartment at 606 Center St. about 10 a.m. Friday and found a large quantity of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana in the master bedroom, Bennettsville Police Sgt. Larry Turner said. Officers also seized $1,000 in cash from the residence.
Reginald Lamont Currie, 30, of 205 Jennings St. is charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within the proximity of a playground and simple possession of marijuana, Turner said. Currie remains in custody at the Marlboro County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for Saturday.
The task force executed a second search warrant Friday and seized money and drug paraphernalia from a home on Mark Circle.
Laquan Fox, 19, of 411 First Ave. is charged with trafficking cocaine and crack cocaine, according to a press release issued Friday night by the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office. He remains in custody at the Marlboro County jail awaiting a bond hearing set for Monday.
