Volunteers from Barefoot Church in North Myrtle Beach will provide transportation to North Strand Helping Hand once a week for people seeking assistance with food, clothing, or financial resources.

"We realize that there is a need for transportation to local services,” said Clay NeSmith, lead pastor at Barefoot Church. “Our volunteers have made this ministry possible so that we can make it easier for people to take advantage of the services that North Strand Helping Hand has to offer.”

People in the North Myrtle Beach area in need of transportation can meet in front of Barefoot Church, located at 701 Main Street, at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday mornings, according to a news release from Barefoot Church.

There will be an additional pick-up at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday mornings at 507 30th Avenue in Atlantic Beach.

Volunteers will then transport them to North Strand Helping Hand, located on Long Bay Road off of Highway 90, and back to Barefoot Church and 507 30th Avenue in Atlantic Beach.

Participants are reminded that they must have a valid identification and proof of residency in order to receive services from North Strand Helping Hands.

The transportation services will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
