Rembert man arrested in child predator case

The Sumter Sherrif's office arrested a Rembert man in a child predator case.

Attorney General Henry McMaster announced Wednesday that Tyrone T. Diggs, 20, of 5410 Mattie McDaniel Road in Rembert was arrest on Monday, March 23rd.

Diggs was arrested on one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor.

An arrest warrant alleges that Diggs solicited sex using text messaging on a cell phone from a fourteen year old girl.

The girl's mother became aware of the messages and turned in the girl's cell phone to law enforcement.

The messages were found to contain sexually explicit language and attempts to convince the girl to meet for sex.

A judge set Diggs bon at $10,000.

If convicted Diggs could serve up to 10 years in Prison
