“The Mullins Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Cindy Lesieur as the new Executive Director to the Chamber. The Chamber welcomes Cindy’s enthusiasm and her desire to help our members.” President Deboarah Waltz said Friday. Lesieur began work on March 3.
Waltz said in a press release that the Mullins Chamber of Commerce thanks Pat Garrett for her years of service as executive director and that she provided "17 years of dedication to the chamber and has been an honor to work with since I began serving on the board."
Immediate Past President John Hughes said the chamber appreciates Garrett's help and "the great job she has provided over the years. When I first starting serving on the board, she kept me updated and was very efficient.”
Lesieur has been part of the news business in Marion County for the past 10 years. After graduating from Francis Marion University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and marketing, she first started as a news reporter for the Marion Star & Mullins Enterprise in 1999. In 2006, she was hired as an editor and helped create the Marion County News Journal.
“With my years of experience and the love of the community, I hope to open new doors and welcome opinions and ideas for the future from local residents as well as local and state officials,” Lesieur said.“This year, there are several new approaches the chamber will take part in to benefit local businesses and the community.”
