Maintenance workers discover meth lab remnants

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Police are searching for clues after maintenance workers discovered the remnants of an apparent meth lab, Kingstree Police Chief Robert Ford said.

The workers stumbled across the lab Thursday afternoon and called officers to the scene, he said.

Once there, police discovered suspicious items “consistent with the operation of a meth lab,” the chief said. Empty canisters, matches and several pills used in the making of meth also were discovered.

Kingstree officials declined to release the location of the home because of an ongoing investigation.

No methamphetamines were found in the home, he said.

Residue found at the scene was sent to the State Law Enforcement Division for analysis. No arrests have been made, Ford said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Kingstree Police Department at (843) 355-5435 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at (888) CRIME SC (274-6372). Callers need not reveal their identities.
