Horry County Police are now confirming two men were shot in the stomach in Socastee.

SUSPECT'S CAR

Police have released four images similar to the car the suspects in the incident were reported to have been driving.

Police say they responded Thursday afternoon to a home invasion on River Bend Drive.

Both victims were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition, police said.

One of those victims, Kevin Nichols, told News13's Rashad Midani what happened from his perspective when he was at his friend's, Mike Keerney's home.

"There was a couple of guys that came through the gate, and walked in and stepped through the side door. I had no idea who they were. Mike came, walked out there to open up the door to see what they wanted, and the one black gentleman took the pistol and hit him in the head, hard, a couple of times."

The suspects then told Mike to get on the ground with his hands behind his head, and that they used duct tape to restrain him, according to Nichols.

Then, they did the exact same thing to him, and proceeded to ransack the house, Nichols said.

The crime is being treated as a random act of violence, according to police.

"It does not appear that the victims and the suspects knew each other. Doesn't appear these suspects have any apparent reason for picking that particular house," Sgt. Rob Kegler with the Horry County Police Department, said.

Police say they are looking for two suspects around 21 to 23 years old, about 5’10” and very thin.

One of the suspects was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt at the time with a shiny gold necklace, according to police.

The other suspect is described as wearing a green or gray hooded sweatshirt with a stocking cap on his head.

A possible suspect vehicle has also been identified. It is described as a silver or gray Cadillac from the late ‘80’s to early ‘90’s, police said.

Police are still investigating and ask the public to call 915-5350 or if you wish to remain anonymous 915-TIPS with any information that may help with their investigation.
