Larry Smith won the majority of votes in Conway's city council election Tuesday night.
He ran against William Goldfinch and Judy Rabon.
Smith received 735 of the 1,461 votes cast.
Goldfinch received 546 and Rabon received 180 of the total votes.
Smith is considered the unofficial winner of the city council seat until Thursday, when Conway's Election Commission certifies the votes.
Smith would take over the council seat of Alys Lawson, who left her term early to serve as Conway's mayor.
Lawson won the special election for mayor in December, after former Mayor Greg Martin passed away in September.
