May 5 marked the official kick-off of the seventh annual ticket drive to sell All-Sport Season Tickets for the Swamp Fox Booster Club.
The top academic senior girls from Marion High School are competing for the title of Miss Maroon and Gold 2009. This ticket drive has garnered over $90,000.00 over the past six years in support of Marion High School athletics and scholarships.
Sixteen young ladies were chosen to compete for the title of Miss Maroon and Gold 2009 based on their academic record, character, citizenship and willingness to support their school and its athletic program.
The reigning Miss Maroon and Gold, Caylee Levy, will crown the 2009 Miss Maroon and Gold on Sept. 25 during halftime of the Marion versus Timmonsville football game.
Seniors competing for the Miss Maroon and Gold 2009 title are Latoya Avant, Akosha Barnes, Dorthy Baxley, Amanda Doughty, Megan Elliott, Lafondra Ellison, Sarah Fowler, Sequetta Holloway, Ashley Humphrey, Britney James, Victoria Martin, Melanie McGrath, Jasmine Owens, Marubia Paige, Medaline Parquale and Jacquita Styles.

A Booster Club ticket will allow the cardholder to attend any home athletic event at Johnakin Middle School or Marion High School, excluding playoff action. It ensures no standing in line to buy a ticket and gives the cardholder 10 percent off all spirit items.
A family ticket (for each member of the immediate household) is $125, an adult ticket is $65 and a student is $35.
The Booster Club invites the community to its monthly meetings at Marion High School. For information, contact one of the following: Cindy Turner (President), Lewis Evans, Phillip Atkinson, Robin Turner, Keith Stewart, Tim Perkins, or Bryan Carfley.
