Myrtle Beach Airport lands more than $7 million in federal funds

The Myrtle Beach International Aiprot is set to receive a large federal grant to help improve the current facility.

According to a press release, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham announced Tuesday that Horry County will receive $7,083,574 in federal grants for improvements at Myrtle Beach International Airport.

The funds will be used for rehabilitation of the commercial apron, and construction of a new aircraft rescue and fire fighting facility.

The grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
