A Maryland woman and her boyfriend who are facing murder charges in connection with the death of a Kingstree teen are also accused of shooting a Florence man, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
Investigators said Twanda Mack Allen, 36, and her boyfriend, Kelvin Michael Bowen Jr., 31, drove more than 500 miles to shoot her estranged husband in Florence, Raines said.
Allen and Bowen each face criminal conspiracy and assault and battery with intent to kill charges in connection with the Jan. 25 shooting of a Florence man, Raines said.
Police said the couple drove from Maryland to Allen’s estranged husband’s Palmetto Street home Jan. 23 but were unable to find him. Two days later, Raines said, Allen dropped Bowen off near the victim’s house.
The male suspect knocked on the victim’s door and asked him several questions about the person who lived next door to him, then left the scene only to return a second time, he said.
The victim slammed the door in the suspect’s face and he shot the victim through the closed door, hitting him in the thigh and shin, Raines said.
The victim was treated at a local hospital and survived his injuries, Raines said,
Allen and Bowen are accused of fatally shooting 17-year-old Kenyon Dorsey as he sat at his kitchen table at his home in April.
Allen’s son, Ronald Hakeem Mack, 17, and Antonio Lavelle McClary, 19, of Kingstree also are charged in connection with Dorsey’s death.
Florence police served warrants on Allen and Bowen on Tuesday. A Williamsburg County judge likely will set bond for them later, Raines said.
