Water safety, pollution focus of EPA study at Surfside Beach

»  Comments | Post a Comment

If you were out in the ocean at Surfside Beach on Sunday you might have seen volunteers from the Environmental Protection Agency walking around.

That's because they were busy surveying beachgoers about water safety and pollution.

Agency employees say the information will help develop better guidelines for safe beach water and protect swimmers from getting water illnesses.

Surfside Beach was one of seven beaches in the United States chosen for the study.
