Two Mullins men have been arrested in connection with two separate assaults Saturday morning in Mullins.
Eric Ford, 43, and Johnny Foxworth, 46, were arrested Saturday and are each charged with two counts each of assault and battery with intent to kill, armed robbery and criminal conspiracy, Mullins Police Chief Kenneth Davis said
The arrests follow an investigation into the beating of two men at separate locations Saturday morning, Davis said. The suspects were arrested after police responded to a confrontation at a nightclub on Front Street.
“Blunt objects were used to incapacitate the victims, who were then robbed” of about $300 combined, according to a police department press release.
The first assault happened early Saturday morning on Seaboard Avenue, and the second victim was on the corner of Cypress Street, just blocks away from the first incident.
One of the victims remains hospitalized. The other was examined by Marion County EMS and chose not to be taken to the hospital, according to police reports.
Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Mullins firefighters assisted Mullins police during the investigation, Davis said.
Both suspects remain in custody at the Marion County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
