Palin loses wager with Sanford on hockey series

»  Comments | Post a Comment

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — There will be no shrimp and grits for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. She owes South Carolina's Mark Sanford some king salmon from her home state.

The two Republican governors — rumored to have aspirations for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination — bet on the ECHL's Kelly Cup finals between the Alaska Aces and South Carolina Stingrays.

The Stingrays won their third Kelly Cup on Friday, defeating the Aces 4-2 in the decisive game in Anchorage — so Sanford wins some Alaska king salmon.

Had the Aces won, Palin would have received shrimp and grits and she-crab soup from Tristan Restaurant in Charleston.

Representatives for Palin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
