GEORGETOWN - Georgetown County Sheriff’s Investigators have charged a man in connection with a bank robbery in Litchfield.

According to a news release, Corey A. Beach, 22, of 24 High Ridge Loop Apartment 624, Pawleys Island is accused of robbing RCB Centura Bank on July 20.

Investigators were contacted Saturday by officers with the Walterboro Police Department after they arrested Beach during a traffic stop and charged him for driving with a suspended license.

During the traffic stop, Walterboro’s officers searched Beach’s vehicle and found a black bag containing damp, red stained money in the glove box. The officers contacted the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office after reading a teletype sent out through NCIC alerting regional law enforcement of the robbery.

Georgetown County Sheriff’s Investigators went to Walterboro Monday to question Beach and later obtained a warrant charging him with Strong Armed Robbery, the release said.

Deputies brought Beach back to the Georgetown County Detention Center on Tuesday where he is currently being held awaiting a bond hearing.
