Police investigate weekend Mullins shooting

Mullins police are searching for a suspect involved in an early Saturday morning shooting on Gause Street.

A man was shot as he sat inside his parked vehicle around 2:30 a.m., Mullin Police Chief Kenneth Davis said.

The victim remains hospitalized, he said.

Davis said officers have made two “peripheral arrests,” but the alleged shooter remains at large. The names of the suspects weren’t released.

The case remains under investigation by police as well as the Marion County Combined Drug Unit, with assistance from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and State Law Enforcement Division, Davis said .
