Success Skills classes will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday in room 212 on Northeastern Technical College’s Cheraw campus.
The course is open to single parents, homemakers and those interested in nontraditional careers. Single parents must be unmarried, or legally separated from a spouse, and have custody or joint custody of a minor child. Homemakers must be adults who work, without payment, to care for the home and family.
Participants will receive counseling and information about potential career pathways and relevant training.
Once the course is completed, participants will be encouraged to enter a second phase of the program, which includes enrolling as a student in one of Northeastern Tech’s business, technology or health and public service academic pathways.
Participants must have a high school diploma or GED and attend all four skills classes in order to qualify for financial assistance through this program. Participants must also bring their 2008 income tax information to class for fall semester financial aid purposes.
