A woman turned herself in after police found two dogs dead outside her foreclosed home.

Ellyn Jamie Johnson is charged with the ill treatment of animals and torture

Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler said Johnson turned herself in Wednesday morning.

Police issued a warrant for Johnson Tuesday after they received a call from a person working at the home who found the dogs dead in a crate in the backyard.

The home is on Partridgeberry Road, off of Forestbrook Drive.

Neighbors told News13 that the couple that lived there were feeding the dogs or at least someone was coming to the house, that was, until recently.

Neighbors also said the husband is serving in Iraq and that their home was in foreclosure.
