A Hartsville man was arrested Monday after deputies said he had inappropriate contact with an 11-year-old girl, Darlington County Sheriff’s Capt. Andy Locklair said.
Charles William Fields Jr., 47, of 501 Amerson Drive is charged with lewd act on a minor, Darlington County Detention Center Bookings reports show.
The incident happened May 10 when the suspect was seen by the child’s mother touching her inappropriately, Locklair said.
Fields turned himself in to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Monday and remains in custody at the Darlington County jail under a $20,000 cash or surety bond, he said.
