Horry County Police arrested a Conway man after they said he kicked the door in to his estranged wife's house Sunday morning.

According to a press release, Herbert Laverne Wilson, 32, was arrested after a struggle with police around 3:30 a.m. Sunday inside a home on New River Rd. near Conway.

Police said a female victim was outside of the residence when they arrived and told them her estranged husband kicked the door in to her house, and was in the bedroom with their children.

The officers made contact with Wilson, who refused to leave the bedroom.

Wilson has an active Order of Protection against him, and is not allowed to have contact with the victim.

When the officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he began kicking at the officers.

Wilson is charged with criminal domestic violence, violation of protection order, and assault on a police officer while resisting arrest.
