Main Street Marion launches new programs

»  Comments | Post a Comment

City of Marion citizens are being asked to consider joining the Main Street Marion program. The group’s mission is to preserve the historic essence through preservation, and stimulate and promote the economic vitality of the Historic Downtown District.

For information about the group, visit www.theswampfox.com or call Chuck Wiegert, director of MSM, formerly the Historic Marion Revitalization Association, at (843) 423-9918. New programs announced for the coming year include quarterly “Lunch and Learns.” Lunch and Learns provide members and community members to learn about preservation, streetscapes, history and other subjects of interest to everyone in Marion, Wiegert said in a flier about the coming events.

The first Lunch and Learn will be on Nov. 4 at noon in the Opera House. Cost is $4 of member and $6 for non-members. Topic will be the Main Street Streetscape, with discussion led by Bob Anderson, the City of Marion Administrator.
