CONWAY - Coastal Carolina University officials said Friday that complaints the school received from residents near campus about a man claiming to be a university student were based on incomplete information.
According to a news release from the university, the school received complaints Thursday about an individual conducting surveys door to door and claiming to be an intern connected to the school.
After further investigation by the University’s Department of Public Safety, it turns out the individual is working for a legitimate company selling reference materials, the release said.
Officials say the man is not connected in any way with Coastal Carolina University.
