CONWAY – A Myrtle Beach man was arrested Thursday morning following an investigation into a domestic violence incident on Dry Valley Loop Road, according to a release from the Horry County Police Department.
Brandon Lee Starr, 23, was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to the release.
“Officers with the Horry County Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division responded to an address on Dry Valley Loop in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County in reference to a domestic. Upon their arrival, they located on female victim with marks on her neck,” Sgt. Robert Kegler wrote in the release.
“The victim stated that she had picked her ex-boyfriend up from a bar, at which point, he began to place his hands around her neck, demanding to go back to her house. Once there, he cut himself with a razor blade, while holding her down and smearing his blood on her chest and face,” according to the release.
“He also continued to choke her, as well as hold a pillow over face. The victim was able to calm him down enough to flee to safety. The suspect was taken into custody without incident,” according to the release.
