Paws Across The Water Duck Race celebrates five years

The 5th Annual Paws Across the Water Duck Race will take place at Barefoot Landing on Saturday, September 12.

The 5th Annual Paws Across the Water Duck Race will take place at Barefoot Landing on Saturday, September 12.

In a news release from Marketing Strategies, it states as many as 5,000 ducks will be adopted and dropped into the Intracoastal Waterway at Barefoot Landing on September 12th to benefit The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.

Beginning at 11:30am, attendees will enjoy live entertainment, great food, children’s face painting, temporary tattoos, games and fabulous prizes.

A number of ducks are still available for the 5th Annual Paws Across the Water Duck Race and will be on sale up until Race Day at various locations around the Grand Strand, including the shops at Barefoot Landing.

Adoption fees:


  • $5 for one Duck
  • $25 for a Quack Pack (Adopt 5 Get 1 Free)
  • $50 for a Flock of Ducks (Adopt 10 Get 2 Free)
  • $400 for a Big Duck (Adopt 80 Get 20 Free)

These thousands of ducks will be competing for more than $3,000 in prizes. The first prize is a $2,000 Gas Card and second prize is a $1,000 Gas Card, both provided by Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson. Up to twenty more prizes will be rewarded on Race Day.
