»  Comments | Post a Comment

Police are searching for a man who they say robbed a woman at gunpoint at the Magnolia Mall on Thursday, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.

The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. in the shopping mall parking lot.

A mall employee was getting out of her car when a large man approached her, held a gun to her chin and demanded that she hand over her purse, Raines said.

The woman obeyed and the suspect jumped in a bluish-gray Pontiac Aztec driven by a small-framed black woman and sped away, he said.

The suspect is described as a black man about 6 feet tall, weighing about 300 pounds with a full beard.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Florence Police Department at (843) 665-3191 or the state Crime Stoppers hotline at (888) CRIME SC (274-6372). Callers need not reveal their identities.
