20-year-old recovering from shooting near CCU campus

Horry County police are investigating a shooting near Coastal Carolina University.

Lt. Bob Carr with the Horry County Police Dept. said a 20-year-old man was shot Wednesday around 9 p.m.

Police said the shooting happened at the Coastal Villas Apartments, which is off SC 544, near the university.

The victim said four men approached him. The four suspects had two handguns. Carr says the victim ran from them but was shot in the left thigh.

There is no description of the suspects.

The victim is being treated at Conway Medical Center. Police do not have an update on the man's condition.
