In December 2008, Larry Watt, executive director of the The South Carolina Independent Schools, presented the “Coadjutor Award” for 2008 to Josie H. Snipes, Pee Dee Academy’s Assistant Headmaster.

Pee Dee is one of 102 private schools in the SCISA. The award distinguishes Snipes as the number one administrative assistant in all of SCISA. Pee Dee Academy has known for many years the value of Mrs. Snipes’ work and dedication to young people, officials there said, and “now the rest of our association has acknowledged her many contributions.” Snipes serves as the school’s guidance counselor, technology director, activities director, student council sponsor, and as Assistant Headmaster.

For the past 20 years, she has been an educational force for hundreds of Pee Dee students, officials said, adding that the Pee Dee Academy family appreciates Snipes untiring efforts to help young people in the area.
