»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Pee Dee Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogical Society will feature Steven D. Tuttle of the South Carolina Department of Archives and History at its Feb. 8 meeting. Tuttle will present a program on “Resources for Genealogy Research at the Archives.” The program is expected to be a good one for those beginning to be interested in their family histories and for seasoned genealogical researchers, as he will open a treasure trove of information and resources.

Tuttle has been employed at the Archives since 1984 and is supervisor of Reference Services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Asheville (1981) and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of South Carolina (1992).

He is the author of two publications, Census Records at the Archives and African American Genealogical Research, invaluable tools for researchers.

The Chapter meeting begins at 3 p.m. in the Conference Room of Pee Dee Federal Savings Bank, 106 East Court Street, Marion, across the square from the Marion County Courthouse. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the program.
