New jobs are coming to Horry County.
Officials broke ground on the expansion of the Loris Community Hospital on Sunday.
Officials say the current emergency room and intensive care unit cannot handle the load of patients coming into the hospital.
On Jan. 18, health care officials broke ground at the Seacoast Medical Center.
Between both expansions, they say more than 100 construction jobs are being created.
"I've always been an advocate that the hospitals are not just places for patient care, but we are an economic engine for this entire part of Horry County, so new jobs will be coming both in the Loris area and North Myrtle Beach area due this construction over the next few years, " Chairman of the Board for Loris Healthcare Systems Ronald Fowler said.
Officials also say there will be state of the art equipment in the expanded ER and ICU, and add construction is already underway.
