Five Chesterfield County residents have been sentenced for conspiracy to possess Oxycontin, a controlled substance, with the intent to distribute, U.S. Attorney W. Walter Wilkins said in a press release.
U.S. District Judge Terry L. Wooten sentenced Jonathan Simpson, 25, to 72 months in prison; Vikki Lee Simpson, 38, to two years in prison; and Frankie Price, 57 to 37 months in prison. Crystal Boatright, 21, and Angela Langley, 48, were each sentenced to three years probation. The Simpsons and Boatwright are from Pageland; Price and Langley are from Jefferson.
From June 2006 through July 2007, Jonathan Simpson created prescriptions for OxyContin using a computer at a library in Monroe, N.C.. He then forged the signature of a doctor on the prescriptions. His wife, Vikki Simpson, and others went to different pharmacies in the Carolinas to fill the prescriptions and assisted Simpson in distributing the pills.
Assistant U.S. Attorney William E. Day II of the Florence office prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and Drug Enforcment Agency Diversion.
