Dr. Henry Patterson Worrell
Dr. Henry Patterson Worrell, child of God, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Jan. 14, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Hallett Jones Worrell and their children, Laura Worrell Hutto (Mrs. Scott Webster Hutto) and Thomas Reed Worrell; grandchildren, Sarah Webster Hutto and Matthew Reeves Hutto. Pat is also survived by his siblings Nan Worrell Mellette, Linda Worrell Godbold, and Joseph Miles Worrell. He was the son of Joseph Henry and Helen West Worrell.
A funeral was on Jan. 19 at First United Methodist Church in Marion. Graveside services followed at 4:00 p.m. in Belin Memorial United Methodist Church. A list of memorial suggestions is available at Richardson Funeral Home of Marion.
Aileen L. McInnis
Mrs. Aileen Lane McInnis, 68, widow of John William McInnis died on Jan. 14, 20009 after a long illness. She was born on Dec. 12, 1940 in Dillon County, a daughter of the late Lee and Sula Hood Lane. Mrs. McInnis was retired from Sara Lee.
Surviving Mrs. McInnis are, three daughters, Sandra (Richard) Bellamy of Longs, Kathy (Mark) McInnis of Marion and Sue Graham, 7 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Marie Prentiss) Frazier of Fayetteville, NC., Mary Alice (William) Turner of Marion and Gail (Doug Atkinson) Eskridge of Marion. Mrs. McInnis was predeceased by two brothers, Harry Lane and Jerry Lane.
Private graveside services were held at Palmetto Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer‘s Association, 2999 Sunset Blvd., Suite 102, West Columbia, SC. 29169.
Ann Raeford “Billie” Bristow Mishoe
Ann Raeford “Billie” Bristow Mishoe, 89, died on Jan. 12, 2009 in her home, with her family beside her, after an extended illness. Graveside services were on Jan. 14, at Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Richardson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mishoe was born on Oct. 9, 1919 in Fairmont, N.C., a daughter of the late William French Bristow and Annie Ewing Bristow. She was also predeceased by her husband, Dr. Paul R. Mishoe.
Along with her husband, she was the owner/operator of Professional Pharmacy for over 50 years. Mrs. Mishoe was also a member of Marion Baptist Church, where she played piano and taught Sunday School. She was a graduate of Bernau College Business School where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Ann Mishoe Case and her husband, Bud, Linda Mishoe Mayhew and her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Ann Case Edmondson and her husband Rob, Eddie Case, Paul Odom and his wife, Kim, and Jonna McKenzie; as well as five great-grandchildren.
Recently, Billie has been blessed with someone who has become another member of the family. Wanda Grant has given full time care to Billie for several years. She has become a true friend to the entire family for which they are eternally grateful. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P.O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29501.
Kathy Ann “Pee Wee” Coleman
Kathy Ann “Pee Wee” Coleman, 41, died Monday, January 12, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on April 28, 1967 in Lexington, N.C., a daughter of Cecil Coleman and Dollie Mae Williams Hendrix. Kathy was a housekeeper. She was a member of Woodlawn Park Baptist Church.
Surviving Kathy are her mother, Dollie Mae Williams Hendrix of Mullins; her father and step-mother, Cecil and Aundra Coleman of Mullins; a son, Timothy Dale Coleman of Mullins; two brothers, Joe Coleman of Mullins and Roger Coleman of Darlington; two sisters, Carol Coleman Scoggins and her husband Mark of Clemmons, N.C., and Patricia Mae Coleman of Mullins; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral was on Jan. 15 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glenn Brown and the Rev. Roger Ard officiating. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery.
Lilianne F. Martin
Lilianne F. Martin, 84, died on Jan. 11, 2009 in Marion County Medical Center after an extended illness. Graveside services were at Devotion Gardens on Jan. 13.
Mrs. Martin was born in Swansea, Mass., a daughter of the late Harry and Laura Henley Bessette. She is also predeceased by her husband, Victor R. Martin; brothers, Henry and Raymond Bessette; and sister, Germaine Lemieux.
Mrs. Martin owned and operated a seamstress and monogram boutique and was a member of the Marion Catholic Church of the Infant Jesus.
Surviving are two sons, Harry Martin of Florence and V. Russell Martin Jr. of Mullins; a daughter, Barbara Johnson of Jacksonville, Ala.; a brother, Henry Bessette, of Goodspring, Tenn.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Marjorie Wall DeMario
Marjorie Wall DeMario, 88, died on Jan. 15, 2009 at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly, Mass., after a long illness. Born in Marion, on April 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion Wall and Carrie (Holden) Wall-Ridgill. Marjorie met her husband David DeMario while working in Washington, DC at the Department of Agriculture during WWII.
They moved to Ipswich, Mass., where she worked for many years as a legal secretary and bookkeeper.
She was a member of many organizations, including the DAR, the Legal Secretaries of the North Shore, the VFW Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post# 1093 of Ispwich, the Ispwich Women’s Club and the Catholic Women’s Club also of Ipswich. Marjorie enjoyed playing bridge and traveling.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, David DeMario in 2003 and was predeceased by a daughter, Norma C. DeMario, in 2004.
Marjorie is survived by a daughter Lois and husband David MacIntyre of Ispwich; two sons, David and his wife Debby of Coronado, Calif., Neil and his wife Lisa of Beverly, Mass.; two grandsons, Keith MacIntyre and his wife Heather of Center Rutland,Vt., and Craig DeMario also of Beverly, Mass.
A funeral was on Jan. 20, 2009 in Immanuel Baptist Church, 45 Central Street, Ispwich. Burial followed in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ispwich. Stacy H. Grainger
Stacy Harmon Grainger, 32, husband of Crystal Cooper, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009. He was born June 23, 1976 in Marion County, a son of Willie Wright “Billy” Grainger and Laura Annette Parker Grainger. Stacy was self-employed and a graduate of Aynor High School.
Surviving Stacy, in addition to his wife are his mother, Laura Annette Parker Grainger of Myrtle Beach; his father, Willie Wright “Billy” Grainger of Aynor; two children, Chelsie Hailey Grainger and Courtney Logan Grainger; a sister, Stephanie Ann Grainger of Myrtle Beach. Stacy was predeceased by a brother, Steven W. Grainger.
A funeral was on Jan. 17 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Jordan and the Rev. Edward Graham officiating. Burial followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
