A standoff between a man and Marion County deputies ended peacefully Tuesday night.
Marion County Sheriff Mark Richardson said it began about 6 p.m. at a home at Meadow View Drive and U.S. 501 Business, near the U.S. 501 Bypass.
Deputies said Rex Cruise and his wife got into an argument at their home, and she asked him to leave. Investigators said he had a gun and threatened to shoot himself.
When deputies responded, they were able to get the woman out of the home, and after more than three hours, the suspect surrendered. No one was hurt.
Cruise is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and could face additional charges, Richardson said.
