Deputies seek suspects in Hartsville-area robbery

Darlington County sheriff’s deputies are looking for suspects in an armed robbery and shooting that happened Thursday.

No one was injured during the crime.

Deputies were called to the Food Mart at 1318 Patrick Highway near Hartsville, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. It’s not clear what time the crime occurred.

Three black men came into the store and robbed the clerk of money from the cash register, according to the release. As the clerk tried to call 911, one of the robbers discharged a firearm. The three suspects fled in an older model burgundy Cadillac.

Robert Sharod Jackson of Hartsville was arrested on unrelated charges as deputies were investigating the robbery, but he is considered a person of interest in this case, according to the release.
