Beginning on March 13, the Wal-Mart Super Center in Marion County will close from midnight to 6 a.m.
The overnight shift, according to a media relations spokesperson from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., will be absorbed into the store's other shifts during operating hours of 6 a.m.-midnight, with no one losing their job. Store Manager Willie Holland referred questions about the changes to the Wal-Mart store's hours to the corporate media relations office.
A sign posted on the doors to the store alerted customers to the changes.
Since its reopening as a Supercenter in October 2007, the Wal-Mart in Marion County, Store #1829 at 2523 East Highway 76, has been open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The supercenter at that time had about 250 store associates, which was an addition of about 100 employees. The store operated in its previous location in Marion for 15 years.
