»  Comments | Post a Comment

LITTLE RIVER - An accident involving a Horry County school bus and a second vehicle sent one person to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Horry County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Todd Cartner says it happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Highway 90 at Lincoln Heights Road in Little River.

Horry County School District Spokesperson Teal Britton says the special needs bus was transporting two students from North Myrtle Beach Middle School when the driver of the vehicle pulled out in front of the bus, and collided head on.

Britton says the driver of the vehicle was flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Neither the students nor the driver of the bus were hurt, but Britton says all three were taken to a local hospital to be checked out as a precaution.
